Domenico Cipriano was born in 1970
at Guardia Lombardi(AV). He won the “Lerici-Pea” prize for the
unpublished work in 1999,for poetry section. He has published the
collection of poems “Il continente perso” (Rome, Fermenti, 2000; 2nd
ed. 2001), with the introduction of Plinio Perilli and with a note
of jazz musician Paul Fresu, which won the “Camaiore” prize, first
work category, in 2000 and signalled to the “Eugenio Montale” prize
in 2000.
The publishing house “PulcinoElefante” has published, in June 2001,
the text “L’assenza” (in 33 copies) with photos by Enzo Eric
Toccaceli.
His poems have appeared on anthologies and collective. Morovern they
appared in more rewiews. We remember: Pagine, La Clessidra, Il
Segnale, Hebenon, Le Voci della Luna, Hortus, Pietraserena,
L’Immaginazione, La Mosca di Milano, Banco di Lettura, Fermenti,
Poiesis, Capoverso, Graphie, L’Ortica, Fucine Mute, Atelier,
Plurabelle, Lo Specchio de La Stampa, Polimnia, Gradiva, Forum
Italicum, Ameritalia.
He has conceived and coordinated the jazz Festival “Evening Song” (from
1993 to 2002), the demonstrations “Poeti irpini and
post-avanguardia” (1997) and “Le strade della poesia” (2004 and
2005), the cycles of readings “Voci d’Irpinia”, “Quotidiana(mente)” (2006)
and "Metafore" (2007)..
He is drawer of the reviews “Il Madrigale” and “Sinestesie” and he
cares the section “Scritti di poesia” - on line edition
(www.rivistasinestesie.it). He has collaborated to poetry reviews,
such as “Poetry Wave” and “Le voci della luna”, currently he
collaborates at “La Mosca di Milano”.
Interested in the union between Jazz and Poetry he has realized,
with the actor Enzo Marangelo and the musician
Enzo Orefice, the “JP
band” project that melts Jazz and Poetry. About this project, it has
been published a CD entitled “Le note richiamano versi” (Abeatrecords,
2004) with the rhythmic section of Ettore Fioravanti and Pietro
Leveratto, equipped with the photos by Enzo Eric Toccaceli and a
critic note of Giorgio Rimondi. The work has been signalled to the
“Lorenzo Montano” prize in 2006.
He has got recognitions for unpublished poetry, such as: “Premio
Capoverso” 2004, “Giuseppe Piccoli” 2005, “Dionysyakos” Prize 2006.
He has participated, both alone and with the “JPband” project, to
demonstrations, poetry festivals and jazz festivals, in various
contexts, such as: “Bunker Poetico” (of Mark Nereo Rotelli) to the
49th Biennial of Venice, “Invito alla lettura” at Castel Sant'Angelo
in Rome, “Stagione concertistica Chorus Line”, “Novecentopoesia”,
“Festival di poersia in azione <a + Voci>” at Caffè delle Giubbe
Rosse in Florence, “Artetipica” in Benevento Città Spettacolo, “4
notti e più di luna piena”, at Eden Caffè in L’Aquila, “Cantine
Mastroberardino”, Literary Park “F. De Sanctis”, “Carovana Poesia e
Musica” in the universities of Bologna, Sasso Marconi and Naples,
“Festival Tra musica colta e musica jazz”, “Poesia del Sud…e per il
Sud”, “Parcopoesia”, “Napoli Street Festival”, “SerateCapuane”,
“MezzaNotte Bianca” in Avellino, “7 giorni di-versi” at the “Rari”
Room of the National Library in Naples, “TeatroPoesia” at the
SanCarluccio theater in Naples, “VeronaPoesia” at the Literary
Society of Verona, and so on. His portrait was included in the
gallery
“Mostropoeta” by Serena
Maffia.
In 2008 he was selected for the final of
Lorenzo Montano Prize as author of one of the best unpublished
